Students
In British Columbia, all-day programs are Licensed under daycare. Children must be three years old when starting, with the exception of two children per group as young as 30 months. Toilet training is a major learning process, and children progress at their own natural pace. For this reason, we do not exclude any child who has yet to master personal toileting. However, children MUST be able to manage fundamental and independent toileting and pull-ups. Help is always there when needed.
Staff
All teaching staff are certified Montessori instructors, and fully licensed Early Childhood Educators. Staff members are trained in and hold valid Community Childcare First Aid Certificates. All staff are trained and certified in many diverse areas, with valuable years of teaching practice, developmental knowledge and practical parenting wisdom, from personal experience. Teachers are required to upgrade their knowledge on a continual basis. Our program is strengthened through the many individual talents of our staff and our regular volunteer workers. Yoga, nature studies, creative arts and interactive story telling are some of the projects and activities that occur on a regular basis.
All staff, volunteers and practicum students that visit, must pass a Criminal Record Check prior to joining our classroom.
Program
Our All-Day Montessori Program will open in September of 2023. The program will operate for eleven months out of the year, September through July. Closures will be in late December for one week, and all statuatory holidays. This allows staff to have sufficient breaks and enjoy family time during holiday seasons. Several options are available for enrollment in our All-Day Montessori program. Five days a week (Monday to Friday), three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), and two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday). The hours for All-Day are 8am to 5:00pm. Drop off between 8am and 9am. Pick-ups between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.
School Year
Our All-Day Montessori Program starts in September the first Tuesday after the Labour Day holiday. New children will begin with a Gradual Entry during the first two weeks, with a shorter duration of time. Returning children who are ready to attend an entire class, will attend the entire class the first day.
We offer full day classes only. Half day classes are no longer offered.
